miniRaman Spectrometer for in-vivo Skin Measurements

The Lightnovo miniRaman spectrometer is a compact and efficient solution for non-invasive in-vivo skin measurements. Designed for high-precision analysis, it provides detailed insights into the molecular composition of the skin, from the surface to depths of up to 150 µm.

Samples and Results:

  • Skin Areas Analyzed: Finger, hand, and cheek at depths of 10–20 µm.
  • Raman Spectra Observed: Clear differentiation in water content across areas using CH (2800–3000 cm⁻¹) and OH (3100–3500 cm⁻¹) bands.
  • Application Example: Penetration of anti-sun cream (SPF30) was successfully measured.

The miniRaman spectrometer, paired with a high-NA immersion probe, achieves a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 500:1 within a 1-second exposure time, demonstrating its capability for efficient, reproducible skin analysis.

This powerful miniRaman technology is ideal for skin diagnostics and studying the penetration and permeation of topical formulation.
