RG Raman microscope for microplastics detection in seawater

Lightnovo’s compact Raman microscopes provide an innovative and efficient approach to analyzing microplastics (MPs) in seawater. This advanced technology enables direct, on-site detection of MPs on filters, eliminating the need for additional sample preparation and ensuring fast, accurate results.

Samples Analyzed:

  • Seawater Collection: A 10-liter sample from the Mediterranean Sea was filtered using a silicon membrane, and the residue was analyzed directly on the filter.
  • Raman Specifications: The system used a 532 nm laser to scan a 10×10 mm² field with a 2 µm spot size, capturing high-resolution spectral data across 600×600 points.
